Our Facilities

Lewis Racing currently operates two modern training establishments.

The South Australian training centre operates out of stables only 200 metres from the state’s headquarters of racing at Morphettville. Apart from boasting plush, first class member and public facilities, Morphettville provides owners and trainers everything you would expect for your horse from a world class facility. Specifically, Morphettville provides a sand track, a wood fibre track, two grass tracks, a trotting track and modern swimming pool amenities.

The Ballarat training base is 50 kilometres from Melbourne’s legendary Flemington Racecourse in Victoria. Ballarat Racecourse is fast becoming the base of choice for many trainers that want to escape the hustle of Melbourne and provide their horses a more relaxing, fresh atmosphere. Ballarat racecourse provides a sand track, a wood fibre track, two grass tracks, a trotting track, a hill track and modern swimming pool amenities

The fact that Morphettville and Ballarat are only 7 hours in a float apart, allows owners the choice to place their horse in over 100 races a week spread between the two states. South Australia and Victoria offer over AUD$75 million in prize money each year and boast around 200 black type races. All this ensures that your horse is given the best possible chance to win the best race it can. Whether you have a Melbourne Cup or South Australian Derby hopeful or your horse is better suited to the rich provincial circuit, Lewis Racing is committed to ensuring your horse is a winner.

To take the most advantage of the two facilities, Lewis Racing will discuss a plan to educate your horse to travel and relax in different environments. Much effort is put into making sure that both the Morphettville and Ballarat facilities operate the same to allow horses the best opportunity a assimilate the new surroundings.
